how do I get my cod mw2 back from steam?

Hello Guys,

my problem is, that steam dont want to unbind my cd key from my German Steam-account.
I bought the game at amazon.de and got it in the nice retail box. I installed the Game and added it to Steam in order to play with some buddies online. Worked well so far.

Now that I live in the US I had to create a new steam account since I didn't wanted to pay EURO prices on the Games. Steam was not able to change the country assignment for my German Account. And now I have MW2 on my German account and want to delete that German account and want to get my Game to my US-Account. I think that is a reasonable request?? Question

But frickin steam support said, that I supposed to contact the retailer (amazon.de) to submit a new cd key.

So what the hell has my retailer to do with the cd key? I don't really want to pay for another MW2 nor do I want to use always two steam accounts.

Any suggestions?

That blows so do you think amazon will give you a new key to use in the US?

Im not sure what to think of that. You would be the first I have heard of going through that. Its not an unusual request at all, but what sucks as well is that if you created a new account with steam, all your stats are with you old account. So whats the difference if you use your German account here? Pleople move all the time. Just not sure about the country to country thingy.
